Frans valt in een praalgraf. (5?

Posted on August 26, 2024 by Pulse

Frans, a wealthy aristocrat, had always been obsessed with his own legacy. He spared no expense in commissioning a grand mausoleum to serve as his final resting place – a luxurious burial chamber fit for a king. The structure was adorned with intricate carvings, gilded decorations, and marble statues, all designed to showcase his wealth and power even in death.

As Frans grew older, he became more and more fixated on his mortality, constantly fretting over how he would be remembered by future generations. His mausoleum became his pride and joy, a symbol of his status and importance in the world.

But as fate would have it, Frans met an untimely end before he could take his place in the grand tomb he had so meticulously prepared. Struck down by a sudden illness, he passed away before he could even step foot inside the lavish crypt he had spent so much time and money constructing.

And so, Frans found himself in a peculiar predicament – he had built a grand mausoleum for himself, but now had no way to enter it. His body lay in a simple wooden coffin, waiting to be interred in the opulent tomb he had prepared for himself.

As Frans’ funeral procession approached the mausoleum, the mourners were shocked to discover that there was no way to lower his coffin into the burial chamber. The entrance was too narrow, the steps too steep, and the door too heavy to move. Frans had built himself a tomb so grand that he could not even be laid to rest in it.

In the end, Frans was buried in a humble plot in the cemetery, far from the grandeur of his intended final resting place. His mausoleum stood empty, a monument to his vanity and folly, a testament to the fragility of human life and the futility of chasing after immortality.

And so, Frans valt in een praalgraf – a cautionary tale of hubris and pride, a reminder that no amount of wealth or power can shield us from the inevitability of death.
